Wikileaks: Bill Clinton pressured Tsipras to accept 3rd memorandum
According to whistleblower site Wikileaks, former US President Bill Clinton was ‘recruited’ by Hillary Clinton’s campaign head John Podesta to convince Greek PM Alexis Tsipras to sign on to the third bailout program in 2015. The new revelations were brought to light after Wikileaks published a large batch Podesta’s e-mails.

The Greek government on Thursday said no contact had been made between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and former US President Bill Clinton in the early days following the bailout referendum last year.
WikiLeaks: White House asked Bill Clinton to advise Tsipras to sign bailout last year
According to email correspondence revealed by WikiLeaks, the White House asked Bill Clinton's former Chief of Staff, John Podesta, to inquire whether the former US president would be willing to intervene following the Greek referendum in July last year with the aim of getting Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to agree on a new bailout agreement with the country's partners and creditors.
