CHP, MHP unveil comprehensive mayoral slates for local polls

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have revealed extensive slates of mayoral candidates in a move ahead of the March 31 local elections.

The CHP's announcement, following a party assembly meeting on Jan. 10, presented mayoral candidates for six pivotal metropolitan cities.

Musician accepted to German school faces visa problem

A 17-year-old musician who has won numerous awards in international competitions has encountered a visa issue that might prevent him from attending a prestigious music school in Germany for his future education.

It was reported that Güneş Tunçkıran, the promising pianist from the southern province of Antalya, has yet to even get an appointment to apply for a Schengen visa.

"Before the end of the year, we will start building the sewerage system on the left bank of the Danube," said Aleksandar Vui on that occasion, adding that the necessary documentation for that project is now being completed.
"It will be a big and most important project, but we found the money and we will start with it soon," said Vucic.

Unseen photos of revolutionary student leader revealed after 50 years

Never seen before photographs of Deniz Gezmiş, a revolutionary student leader executed in 1972 for attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, have been brought to light by a relative.

The photographs of the prominent political figure taken immediately after his capture by the security forces in 1971 were colored by his relative Enver Gezmiş and were shared on social media.

Turkish TAV to operate advertisement areas of Tunisia Carthage Airport

Turkey's TAV Operation Services has won the tender to operate the advertisement areas of Carthage Airport in the capital of Tunisia for four years, the company said by a written statement on March 2.

The number of airports whose advertisement areas are operated by TAV Operation Services has now increased to three, the company added.
