"The President should specify exactly what money flows I have to stop instead of criticizing the government for uncontrolable spending," said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his visit to the southern Bulgarian town of Luki. Borisov's speech was again  live streamed on social media and is a response to President Radev's statement about un-transparent spending of budget funds.

Even in the face of the crisis, we have managed to find money not only for financing measures to support businesses and people, for medics on the frontline, for the purchase of vaccines and equipment for hospitals, but we also continue to invest in education infrastructure, stated Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at a regular cabinet sitting today.

The situation in the country is getting back to normal, the difficulties caused by the severe weather conditions are constantly monitored, the levels of the dams are monitored and, where necessary, water is discharged under strict expert control. All relevant institutions are working in full co-ordination with each other and are on standby to respond, including to citizens' alerts.

The first-reading approval of the figure of a prosecutor entitled to investigate the Prosecutor General in Bulgaria has come as a surprise for the European Commission for Democracy through Law (aka Venice Commission).

The Venice Commission announced this at today's monitoring group meeting in the European Parliament, Radio Horizont learnt from its sources.

The meeting of the Monitoring Group on Democracy, Fundamental Rights and the Rule of Law in the European Parliament, at which the situation in Bulgaria will once again be discussed, will take place on 8 January, MEP Elena Yoncheva wrote on her Facebook page.

Borissov criticized Radev's decision, saying it was hard to know how the pandemic would unfold by late March and implying that elections should be delayed.

"Even in the face of a pandemic, we are building. Bulgaria is a beautiful country, but it's hard to implement construction projects here," stated Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, who inspected the construction of the Hemus Motorway from a helicopter.

"I have promised to the residents of Varna that Hemus motorway will be built at full steam. Besides, we have paved with new asphalt a huge part of the old highway, changedcrash barriers and repaired bridges," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during his visit to the boilers manufacturing plant in Bulgaria's Black Sea capital city of Varna.

In 2020, more than BGN 1 billion worth of projects are certified under the Investment Promotion Act, which is a record for the last 6 years, announced Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov at a working meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

He pointed out that our country has set a record in attracting investments in times of crisis.
