Ten Former Ministers are calling on the Authorities in Sofia to give Weapons to Ukraine

Four Bulgarian foreign ministers and six military officials called on political leaders to support Ukraine, including by providing it with the weapons and ammunition it needs. The call came before the NATO summit in Madrid in late June.

In Memoriam: Bulgaria’s Ex-Minister of Defense Georgi Ananiev Died of Coronavirus

Former minister of defense in the governments of Stefan Sofianski and Ivan Kostov, Georgi Ananiev, died of complications after a severe coronavirus infection.

 

The sad news was reported by Kremena Ananieva on her Facebook account. Ananiev passed away on January 26.

Bulgaria Never Discussed Possibility to Station Army at Border - PM

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov announced that the government has never discussed the possibility to station the army at the border with Turkey in order to guard it against the influx of refugees.

According to him, the suggestion was for the army to provide logistical support to the officials of the Interior Ministry.

KTB 'Holds 90%' of Bulgarian Defense Industry Assets -Former DefMin

Former Defense Minister Boyko Noev argued 90 percent of assets held by Bulgaria's military industry are stored in Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB).

Noev, who has held the office two times (1994-1995, 1999-2001) explained in an interview with Bulgaria on Air channel that a deal among foreign-owned banks prevented them from working with the Bulgarian arms business.
