Bulgarian caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov told Parliament that migration pressure on the country is increasing. "We are indeed seeing an increased migration pressure, the kind of pressure that also existed before the caretaker government took office," Rashkov said during a parliamentary hearing on 30 July.

Attempts by the outgoing caretaker government to oust Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, who served under the previous government of Boyko Borissov, are continuing.

On Tuesday acting Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov approached the Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Director of the National Investigation Borislav Sarafov with a signal against Geshev for leaked eavesdropping.

The caretaker Minister of Interior, Boyko Rashkov, has filed a complain against Chief Prosecutor, Ivan Geshev, to the Director of the National Investigation Service, Borislav Sarafov.

Rashkov announced this on July 27 after an award ceremony for directors of regional directorates of the MoI for good performance of their duties.

Now the members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) should show whether they are independent and emancipated, Justice Minister Yanaki Stoilov commented for Bulgarian National Television (BNT) Saturday, as quoted by his ministry.

Former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov announced that he had been summoned for questioning by caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov over alleged threats made to a Bulgarian businessman.

"He calls on me to appear for questioning on Thursday," Borissov said during a briefing.
