Boyko Rashkov

Kalin Stoyanov is the new Director of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP), reported 24 Hours daily. The reshufflinghappened after the previous director general Lyubomir Yanev was reassigned this morning.

The Specialized Criminal Court (SCC) said on Tuesday that it has not issued a permission to use special intelligence means (SIM) on incumbent caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev, nor on politicians mentioned by the media.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov confirmed for BTA late on Thursday that politicians were being wiretapped by two security agencies - the State Agency for National Security (SANS) and the State Agency Technical Operations (SATO). Rashkov further said that he has received information about materials being destroyed at SANS.

In an interview on Friday morning, he added that caretaker Prime Minister Stephan Yanev has also been tracked by the security agencies over the same period. Rashkov, a lawyer, warned that he believed evidence about the wiretapping is being destroyed. 

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov confirmed late on Thursday to BTA the information that politicians had been wiretapped by two services - State Agency Technical Operations (DATO) and DANS. According to Rashkov, materials are currently being destroyed at the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

The operation of the internal security division of the Interior Ministry at the Third Police Department in Plovdiv is of a huge scale. As we have already informed - the Director of the Regional Police Department Samuil Hadzhiev was arrested. Later it turned out that another 12 police officers have been detained for practices which were appalling, to put it mildly.
