On a briefing held at the National Press Club of BTA, Nikola Ilchev, the creator and organizer of the Balkan eCommerce Summit, showed projections indicating a significant rise in Bulgaria's e-commerce sector. Citing data from three studies, Ilchev disclosed that e-commerce is anticipated to account for 2.11% of Bulgaria's GDP in 2023, up from 1.92% in 2022.

The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization in Turkey (KOSGEB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Executive Director of BSMEPA Boyko Takov became Board Member of the International Network of Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME). This was announced during the 17th annual meeting of the organization, which took place between 9 and 10 December in Sofia.

The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, the Finnish Innovation Fund - Sitra, and the Embassy of Finland in Bulgaria, in partnership with Cleantech Bulgaria, organized the event Circular Opportunities for SMEs, which showed successful examples in the field of circular economy by the Scandinavian country.

The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria, and the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Poland will organize a joint online event within the Three Seas Initiative.

The most interesting projects developed at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, ready to give a start to a successful business were presented at the Science for Business forum.

For the first time, the Bulgarian vaccine against COVID-19, PCR test kits, a device for dry-mist air disinfection, bioceramics based on a space technology and many others were introduced.

The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and the Serbian Embassy in Sofia have agreed to work towards further promotion of contacts between companies of Bulgaria and Serbia, to step-up exchange of experience and knowledge for the promotion of business between the two countries through the organization of joint initiatives.
