New agricultural support scheme aims to boost production
The government has overhauled the support scheme for Türkiye's millions of farmers with a plan covering the period of 2025-2027 to boost production and ensure food supply security.
The presidential decree on "supports for crop and other agricultural products" was published in the Official Gazette.
Major wildfires under control in country’s west

Major forest fires in Türkiye brought under control, says minister
Türkiye's Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Ibrahim Yumaklı, announced on Sunday that several ongoing forest fires have been brought under control, including those in Izmir's Yamanlar and Urla districts.
At a press conference in Izmir's Karşıyaka district, Yumaklı reported that efforts continue to combat eight active fires from the past day.

CHP applies to top court to annul law on stray dogs
The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has appealed to the Constitutional Court for the annulment of a law regarding the handling of stray dogs.
"We have submitted our 183-page appeal to the high court after meticulous work with all the relevant parties, including civil society," CHP deputy leader Gökhan Günaydın said on Aug. 15 after he submitted the appeal.
