Protesters call for return of teen involved in fatal Istanbul crash

Dozens of drivers have staged a protest dubbed a "justice convoy," calling on the 17-year-old who fled abroad after causing a fatal accident on March 1 to return to the country.

The teenager has been smuggled to the U.S. by his mother, a known writer, following the car crash that claimed one life and left several others injured in Istanbul.

Türkiye, Saudi sign series of deals as part of Erdoğan’s visit

Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have signed a series of agreements on boosting investment, defense industry cooperation, energy collaboration and communications during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Persian Gulf states.

The deals were finalized after delegation meetings led by Erdoğan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the city of Jeddah on July 17.

Producers want wheat, barley to be purchased more

In a positive move for farmers, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced the purchase price for barley and wheat that farmers have long been waiting for.

"Our producers will receive 9,250 liras per ton for bread wheat and 7,500 liras per ton for barley," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said following a cabinet meeting on June 6.

Jewelry sector eyes more than $4.7 billion in exports

Türkiye's jewelry industry aims to boost its export revenues above $4.7 billion in 2022 while expanding its outreach globally.

"We have appointed a representative to Mexico and opened offices in the U.S. and Singapore. Those offices will help increase exports by 15 percent," said Burak Yakın, chair of the Jewelry Exporters' Association.
