WHO members urge Israel to protect humanitarian workers
More than a dozen member states of the World Health Organization submitted a draft resolution on Friday that urged Israel to respect its obligations under international law to protect humanitarian workers in Gaza.

As they stated, there are bodies around the hospital that cannot be taken to morgues or buried.
WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said that around 600 people remained in hospital, the BBC reports.

WHO urges countries to investigate early Covid-19 cases
The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that a report that Covid-19 had emerged in December in France, sooner than previously thought, was "not surprising," and urged countries to investigate any other early suspicious cases.
WHO warns against easing coronavirus measures 'too early'
WHO demanded that the countries should not let go of the imposed measures too early, a WHO Spokesman said on Tuesday, "Voice of America" reports.
"One of the most important parts is not to let go of the measures too early in order not to have a fall back again," WHO Spokesman Christian Lindmeier said in a virtual briefing on Tuesday.
Dominican Republic confirms 10 cases of Zika virus
The Dominican Republic said on Jan. 23 that it has 10 confirmed cases of the mosquito-borne Zika virus, the ailment suspected of causing serious birth defects in newborns.
Altagracia Guzman, the Caribbean country's health minister, said lab testing of samples sent to the United States had confirmed Zika in 10 out of 27 suspected cases.
