Anti-Congo regime protesters set fires in Paris

Paris police arrested dozens of protesters on Feb. 28 who burnt scooters and bins outside a concert venue hosting a Congolese singer they accuse of giving a voice to the Kinshasa regime.    

The nearby Gare de Lyon train station was partially evacuated during the chaos and police warned Parisians to stay away as a thick, black column of smoke billowed over the city centre.    

Mitsotakis to meet with outgoing ECB head on Wednesday

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with outgoing European Central Bank President Mario Draghi on Wednesday at Maximos Mansion, according to government spokesman Stelios Petsas who briefed journalists on Tuesday.

On Thursday (October 3), the prime minister will attend a part of the annual "Parmenion" military exercise in Alexandroupolis.

The Police in Lyon Arrested a Suspect for the Bomb Attack in the City

The Police in Lyon arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion that he stands behind the bomb attack in the center of the French city last week, France's press reported, referring to the Paris Prosecutor's Office.

French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner wrote in Twitter that a suspect was arrested for the attack.

France, Britain Agree Action Plan on Migrant Channel Crossings

Britain and France have agreed to boost bilateral cooperation over a spike in migrants trying to cross the Channel, the UK's Home Office said Sunday.

In the coming weeks, the two countries will increase surveillance patrols and focus on measures to dismantle trafficking gangs and improve awareness about the dangers of sea crossings in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.

Strasbourg Christmas Market Gunman Shot Dead by French Police

The gunman who killed three people at a Christmas market in Strasbourg was shot dead by French police on Thursday as the Islamic State jihadist group claimed him as one of its "soldiers", reports AFP. 

More than 700 French security forces had been hunting for 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt since the bloodshed on Tuesday night -- the latest in a string of jihadist attacks to rock France.
