European Parliament elections will be crucial for the future of the 27-member bloc, French Ambassador to Greece Christophe Chantepy said Thursday, while warning against the rise of populist nationalism.

The French and German ambassadors to Greece condemned Monday's bomb attack on Skai TV and Kathimerini newspaper during a visit to the headquarters of the media group in southern Athens Tuesday.

The ambassadors of France and Germany to Greece, Christophe Chantepy and Jens Ploetner respectively, visited the offices of Kathimerini in Athens Tuesday, a day after a bomb seriously damaged the facade of the building, to express their solidarity with the management and staff at the newspaper and Skai TV, which is also headquartered in the building.
