Disposable household incomes rose by 10.2% in the third quarter of 2022, reaching 37.7 billion euros, compared to 34.2 billion euros in the same period last year, according to data the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) released on Tuesday.

Finance Minister Christos Staikouras has presented the six priorities of the Greek economy amid a turbulent geopolitical landscape, persistent high inflation and tighter monetary policy.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is departing on Wednesday for Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Thursday and Friday, his press office announced.

"In the unstable global environment, Greece has succeeded," said Finance Minister Christos Staikouras at the Eurogroup meeting on Monday, pointing out the strong resilience and positive prospects of the Greek economy.

Today, Finance Minister Christos Staikouras will participate in the Ecofin meeting, where the economic and fiscal impact of the war in Ukraine will be discussed.

The Finance Ministry anticipates fresh debt settlements from banks and management organizations over the next five months, ranging from 1.5 to 1.8 billion euros through the out-of-court settlement mechanism. 

Loan arrangements were yesterday at the center of the meeting of Finance Minister Christos Staikouras with servicers. According to information, the two sides noted the progress that has been made, while they discussed their forecasts for the rest of 2023. The meeting was attended by the heads of the companies as well as Mr. Spyros Pantelias from the Bank of Greece.

Finance Minister Christos Staikouras stated on Thursday  that the consequences of the global crisis will continue to affect Greece even though the state of the Greek economy will be better than in much of Europe during an interview given to the Parapolitika radio station. 

Christos Staikouras was named Finance Minister of the Year 2023 for Europe by The Banker magazine of the Financial Times group, whose awards celebrate the officials that have best managed to stimulate growth and stabilize their economy.

Prudent fiscal management and the best use of available funds will allow Greece to face uncertain times effectively and achieve investment-grade status, which is the central national goal for 2023, Finance Minister Christos Staikouras has told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA).
