President Klaus Iohannis on Monday welcomed Norway's Foreign Affairs Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide to introduce Romania's priorities as holder of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the main challenges of this tenure.

The latest developments in economic co-operation between Romania and Norway is encouraging, with the total volume of trade between the two countries having jumped more than 150 percent this year to over 420 million euro, Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu said on Monday.

The exhibition mounted by the AGERPRES National News Agency called '' Romania: Evolution'' opened on Wednesday evening in Zagreb, in the Rotonda House of Journalists, at a reception extended by the Romanian Embassy in Croatia to celebrate Romania's National Day and the centennial of its Greater Union.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said at a solemn meeting in Alba Iulia on Thursday that that is "probably the most exciting moment" of the incumbent government, adding that public policies will continue to be implemented in the service the country and to the benefit of the citizens.

Romania's Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu on Wednesday met delegations of foreign affairs committees of Poland's Senate and Turkey's Grand National Assembly to welcome strengthening parliamentary dialogue among the three countries.

Moldovan officials intend to "cross the Prut" with the Unirii (Union) Motorway running from Targu Mures to Iasi in Romania and on to Ungheni in Moldova, which they want to further extend to reach Chisinau, Moldova's capital city.

On Monday, Romania's President Klaus Iohannis urged Romanians in France to be more united and stay involved as much as they are now in helping modernise Romania.

Health Minister Sorina Pintea said in Bistrita on Monday that the number of requests made by doctors to work abroad has almost halved according to data centralised by the month of August, while the number of requests to return to Romania has increased.
