Athens to illuminate central fountain in Ukraine flag’s colors

Athens' main fountain, in central Omonia square, will be illuminated with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, mayor Costas Bakoyannis announced on Friday afternoon, what he called an act aimed to honor the struggle for democracy, peace and the sanctity of life, as well as to show solidarity to the now tested Ukrainian people.

Police remove anarchist's information kiosk from Exarchia square

Police removed a container that was set up in Exarchia Square, downtown Athens, two years ago and had been used by anarchists and other groups as a distribution kiosk for information.

The container was removed early on Friday by a crane in a joint operation by the Greek Police and the City of Athens.
