Moldova Says Does Not Plan New Gazprom Deal

Moldova does not plan to negotiate a new gas contract with Russian energy giant Gazprom but will wait instead for construction of a link to the European energy network, Interfax quoted Moldovan Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici as telling a television talkshow on Monday.

Chisinau's current contract with Gazprom was signed in 2008 and runs until the end of 2019.

Ionita (MAE) requests U.S. Congress support for including Romania in Visa Waiver programme

Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs Daniel Ionita on Sunday received a delegation of Republican and Democrat representatives of the U.S. Congress, headed by Senator James Inhofe, on which occasion the Romanian dignitary requested their support for the inclusion of Romania in the Visa Waiver programme.
