Runoffs in Bulgaria: GERB takes 7 Cities, WCC-DB - 4, BSP - 2

The allocation of mayoral seats with 100% processed results indicates that GERB will govern 7 of the 16 cities that failed to elect a mayor in the first round of the local elections in Bulgaria. "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) takes 4, and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) - 2. Silistra will be governed by an independent mayor.

Results by Regions in Bulgaria: 1.5% Difference in Sofia, 18 Cities Now have a Mayor

See results by regions as of 7:00 a.m. on November 6 with nearly 100% of counted protocols:

BLAGOEVGRAD

Metodi Baikushev (WCC-DB) won with 50.21% over the previous mayor Ilko Stoyanov (independent), who won 47.24% support. The data is for 100% processed protocols in the Regional Election Committee (REC).

VARNA

Kotsev takes the lead over Portnih in Varna, and PP-DB also secures Blagoevgrad, where Baykushev is Leading

It is highly likely that Varna will have a new mayor, and that person is likely to be Blagomir Kotsеv (pictured). Data from polling agencies currently give Kotsеv, supported by PP-DB, a slight lead over Ivan Portnih. However, the outcome remains uncertain as Blagomir Kotsеv is ahead by only around 4%. This marks a turnaround from the first round when Portnih from GERB had about a 5% lead.
