Ljubljana – Representatives of STA staff have send a letter to top EU officials noting that despite calls to restore the financing of the STA, the issue has still not been resolved. Moral support by senior representatives of the EU unfortunately no longer suffices, the letter reads.

Ljubljana/Bled – The annual Bled Strategic Forum (BSF), Slovenia’s pre-eminent foreign-policy conference, will take place in Bled on Wednesday and Thursday. The conference discussions will focus on the future of Europe and will feature the most high-level line-up of senior officials to date.

Senate President Anca Dragu reiterated on Tuesday the dialogue she had in Brussels in the meetings with representatives of the European Parliament on topics such as the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM), Schengen, the conference on the future of Europe or gender equality.

In a resolution adopted on Thursday with 506 votes in favour, 150 against and 28 abstentions, Parliament warned it may sue the Commission for failing to strictly impose the rule of law across the Union, the EP press service reported.

On June 9, Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev held a video conference with European Parliament President David Sassoli.

During the conversation, initiated by the President of the European Parliament, the two discussed measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, as well as topics on the EU agenda with a focus on enlargement policy.
