Ex-DPS Head Mestan Urges Dialogue on Oligarchy with Bulgaria's 'PMs'

Former DPS party chair Lyutvi Mestan has said he is ready for a "deep conversation" about the oligarchs that have dominated Bulgaria for years, but has added "Prime Ministers" should also be involved.

Mestan on Sunday did an interview with private bTV station after launching his political project, Democrats for Responsibility, Solidarity and Tolerance (DOST), a day earlier.

Turkish Ambassador to Sofia Suleyman Gokce has refuted claims that his country has pressured Bulgarian politicians into taking sides.

Bulgarian MP Delyan Peevski Withdrawing from Bulgartabac

Delyan Peevski, a controversial Bulgarian lawmaker and businessman, said on Friday he was selling his stake in Bulgartabac, a Bulgarian tobacco joint-stock holding company.

Peevski, whose name came to the spotlight after he was appointed to head the national domestic and counter-intelligence agency DANS in 2013, triggering nationwide protests, had a majority stake in Bulgartabac.
