Negotiations between Bulgarian political parties GERB and "We Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) ended in failure, announced resigned Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel at a Sunday evening briefing.

In a recent development, Boyko Borissov has taken the helm as the chairman of the parliamentary group of GERB-SDS, as announced by the Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, at the group's meeting. This decision was reached during discussions among representatives from GERB SDS.

In April, Bulgarian retirees with a pension ranging from BGN 300.01 up to BGN 369, which is392 000 people, will receive additional BGN 120 for food. That would cost the state budget about BGN 47 million. With this BGN 120 they will have the opportunity to buy whatever they need, the money is targeted specifically for food products.

The government extends the 60/40 payroll support measure for businesses and workers until September 2021. This became clear during a working meeting of the government, the Council of Ministers press office announced.

The control over observance of anti-epidemic measures will be uncompromising, the first to see it will be the owners of the large retail chains. In order to be warned in person, their owners will be called for a meeting with the Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov.

"We have yet to discuss the anti-epidemic measures imposed in the country. We have no reasons to be very optimistic. Yes, we have some control over the death cases, but the trends are too fragile to fully relax the measures," stated Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva in the studio of "Hello, Bulgaria" on Nova TV.

BGN 755 million is envisioned in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, funded by the European Union. The target is a program for the reform of long-term care for the elderly. This was announced by Minister of Labor and Social Policies Denitsa Sacheva during the debates on the fourth pillar of the plan - "Fair Bulgaria".
