US Senate: Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Remains Key Issue in Western Balkans

The Kosovo-Serbia dialogue remains one of the main issues of concern in the Western Balkans, the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Thursday heard.

State Department Counsellor Derek Chollet warned: "We are not seeing great effort on the implementation of this agreement by either party."

Drecun: Strategic geopolitical deal with US and West necessary

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian parliamentary committee on Kosovo-Metohija Milovan Drecun said on Thursday Serbia was in a situation where it needed a strategic geopolitical deal with the US and the West.

"Without intensifying the cooperation with the US, the world's biggest power, we cannot count on a promising future," Drecun told Pink TV.

Drecun: French-German plan not take-it-or-leave-it deal, but platform

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian parliamentary committee on Kosovo-Metohija Milovan Drecun said on Friday a French-German plan was not a final agreement on the Kosovo-Metohija issue but a platform for further discussions.

Serbia must take part in discussions about the plan, Drecun said at a special parliament session on Kosovo-Metohija.

WASHINGTON - The US welcomes Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's constructive stance on dialogue on Kosovo-Metohija, FM Ivica Dacic said on Thursday in Washington after attending the Prayer Breakfast.

He said conversations with US State Department Counsellor Derek Chollet and US special Western Balkans envoy Gabriel Escobar were the highlights of his visit to Washington.
