The movement in downtown Sofia will be hampered in the coming days due to the celebration of the national holiday and the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. This was warned by the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs, stressing that strict measures have been taken to protect public order, traffic organization and avoidance of city disturbances.

Bulgaria is considering joining Russia's TurkStream 2 pipeline proposal and, according to the country's Ministry of Energy, is ready to invest €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) in the project, reported DW. 

The tender is worth EUR 1.4 billion.

Bulgaria is a highly valued ally of NATO, it plays an important strategic role in the Black Sea, Kosovo and Afghanistan, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told journalists at the Council of Ministers after meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Bulgaria on Thursday and Friday, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov announced.

"Stoltenberg comes with a huge delegation, and Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrives on Monday, and none of them can talk about why we accept others at their expense," Borisov said in Egypt.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will be on an official visit to Bulgaria on March 4-5 at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov, the government information service announced on Monday.

The visit will begin a day after Bulgaria's National Holiday - March 3rd.

The leader of the main conservative opposition New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to pay a two-day visit to Moscow next week, ND has announced.
During his visit on Wednesday and Thursday he is to meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other senior members of the government.
