European Council Fails to Reward North Macedonia, Albania
In a major blow to the hopes of the two Balkan countries, the European Council - preoccupied with Brexit - on Thursday failed to give Albania and North Macedonia a date to start EU membership talks.
In a last-ditch effort to reach an agreement on the matter, amid fading hope, the Council moved the issue of enlargement to Friday's last session of the council.

The Basic Foundations of a Brexit Deal - READY
The basic foundations of the Brexit deal have been agreed, said European Council President Donald Tusk, adding that everything should be clear in the next seven to eight hours, BTA reported.
"The basic foundations of an agreement are ready and theoretically tomorrow we could accept this deal with Great Britain," Tusk told reporters.

Cypriot government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou has condemned Turkish activities inside Cyprus' exclusive economic zone (EEZ) describing it as an invasion of the Mediterranean island's maritime domain.
