GERB Didn't Respond to the BSP's Invitation for a Meeting Regarding the Parties State Subsidies

The first initialed meeting of BSP to reduce the parties state subsidies from 11 to 1 lev. failed after GERB didn't respond to the Socialists' invitation for talks in the parliament about the forthcoming changes in the amount of subsidies.

Bulgaria's Socialist Party Demands Cancellation of Sanctions against Russia

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) demands that Bulgaria initiates the cancellation of the EU sanctions against Russia, said the party press office.

The BSP parliamentary group tabled in the National Assembly a draft proposal on the need of reconsideration of the EU policies on sanctions against Russia.

Deputy PM Zaharieva: There Is No Agreement On South Stream Transit Fees

As of now there is no signed agreement for the transit fees from the South Stream gas pipeline, Bulgaria's caretaker deputy PM Ekaterina Zaharieva told the bTV national channel.

"No matter how much South Stream would cost, we don't know if it will be profitable, as we don't know what the benefits for us will be", she said in a bTV talk show on Friday. 

Dragomir Stoinev Urges Foreign Companies to Abide By BG Law

Bulgaria's Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoinev urged the foreign companies to abide by Bulgarian law. 

“Our wish is that the foreign companies in Bulgaria abide by Bulgarian law, respect the Bulgarian institutions and have the same conduct they have in their home countries,” Stoinev said at a meeting of the Bulgarian Industrial Association. 

Bulgaria Canceled Energy Meeting With Russia Due to Sanctions

Bulgaria canceled a meeting of a bilateral committee with Russia, which was supposed to take place on Sunday and Monday, reports Capital Daily. 

The Bulgarian delegation in the committee was supposed to be led by the Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoinev and the Russian – possibly by his counterpart Alexander Novak. 

Reformist Block Refers Government Decision On Karadere To Prosecution

The Reformist Block referred the government decision to give priority to construction of a resort in Karadere to the prosecution..

The coalition also demanded the resignation of Economy Minister Dragomir Stoinev. 

According to the coalition, the project was in violation of the Limiting of Offshore Companies Act, recently passed by Parliament. 

Construction At Bulgaria's Karadere To Start In September

The construction of the Black Sea Eco Garden Resort at the Karadere area will start in September 2014, said Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoinev.

The construction will continue through September 2017, according to Stoinev who presented the project at the Monday meeting of Bulgaria's government. 

Government Considers Introduction of Mandatory Labels in Bulgarian

Bulgaria's Government is considering the introduction of mandatory inscriptions in Bulgarian on the packaging of imported goods. 

Currently the labels and instruction manuals in Bulgarian are also mandatory, but some of the goods have additional Bulgarian labels, pasted on the package.
