Djokovic seeded in Indian Wells first round, Kecmanovic to face Sonego

INDIAN WELLS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is seeded in the first round of the Indian Wells ATP tournament and will face the winner of the tie between Australian Aleksandar Vukic and a qualifier in the second round.

The draw ceremony was held last night.

Kecmanovic through to Acapulco quarter-finals

ACAPULCO - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Acapulco ATP tournament after beating German Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday morning.

World number 53 Kecmanovic, who won after an hour and 33 minutes of play, is now 2-0 head-to-head against Altmaier, who is 57th in the ATP rankings.

Lajovic defeats Djere to advance to Rio de Janeiro quarters

RIO DE JANEIRO - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Rio de Janeiro ATP tournament after a 6-2, 7-5 victory over compatriot Laslo Djere.

World number 58 Lajovic, who won after an hour and 50 minutes of play, is now 3-2 head-to-head against Djere, who is 35th in the ATP rankings.

Lajovic beats Tabilo to advance to Buenos Aires quarters

BUENOS AIRES - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Buenos Aires ATP tournament after a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 victory over Chilean Alejandro Tabilo on Wednesday.

Lajovic, who won after 96 minutes of play, will next face the winner of the all-Argentine tie between Facundo Diaz Acosta and Francisco Cerundolo.

Serbia out of Davis Cup after shock defeat to Slovakia

KRALJEVO - Serbia are out of the tennis Davis Cup after a shock 4-0 defeat to Slovakia in a qualifier for the competition's group stage, played in Kraljevo, central Serbia, at the weekend.

On Friday, Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic lost (7-6 (7-2) 6-2) to Lukas Klein and Dusan Lajovic was defeated 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 by Alex Molcan.

Serbia's Krunic, Djere and Lajovic crash out of Australian Open

MELBOURNE - Serbians Aleksandra Krunic, Laslo Djere and Dusan Lajovic are all out of the Australian Open after first round singles defeats on Tuesday.

Krunic lost 6-4, 6-1 to Frenchwoman Clara Burel, who won after 68 minutes of play.

In a five-set thriller, Djere was defeated 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 by Frenchman Arthur Cazaux after three hours and 28 minutes of play.
