Serbian and Albanian PMs to take part in TV debate

Serbian and Albanian prime ministers Aleksandar Vucic and Edi Rama will "confront their positions" during a TV debate later this month.

The 60-minute broadcast will be staged by the regional production network "Okruzenje", ran by the Thessaloniki-based NGO Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeastern Europe (CDRSEE) and the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB).

IMF Mulls Suspending Agreement with Albania

"During this year the [tax] revenues are substantially below expectations. So in order to complete and sign the agreement, we have discussed taxation [increase] measures with the government to close the gap. But the government has decided to work first on tax administration," Reinke said in an interview with Top Channel on Sunday.

Albania MPs Back Controversial Education Law

Albania's parliament adopted controversial government-sponsored higher educational reforms at 2.30am on Wednesday after nine hours of debate. The law was approved by 78 votes out of 140.

Outside parliament, protesters, professors and civil rights activists protested against the law that they call an attack on public universities.

Sports Court Awards Albania Win Against Serbia

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama praised the decision of the sports arbitration court on Friday to award the abandoned football match in Belgrade to Albania.

"Suppeeer, this is what means to have European justice, three point for the red-and-black football team," Rama wrote in reference to Albania's national colours.
