Djuric: Rama's statement attempt to blackmail EU

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric has said that Tuesday's statement by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama about a unification of Albania and Kosovo is an attempt to blackmail the European Union, apart from being a blunt and brutal threat to stability and peace in the region.

Albania, Kosovo Call for Greater EU Integration, Warn of Unification

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama warned the EU that his country could unify with Kosovo "in the classic way" in case the Union did not intensify the integration of Pristina.

Rama made this statement during a joint interview with Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci on Tuesday, B92 reports.

Serbian PM Vows to Stop Albanians Uniting

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has gone on Twitter to declare that Serbia will never let Albania and Kosovo unify in one state.

His tweet on Tuesday came after Serbian media reports claimed that Edi Rama of Albania had said that if the EU failed to allow the two states to unite within a borderless Europe, they would unify in "the classical way".

BELGRADE -- Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric says Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's latest statement represent "an attack on peace."

Rama warned the EU that unless Albania and Kosovo unify through membership in that organization, they would do so "in the classic way."

Montenegrin Honour For Thaci Outrages Serbs

The mainly ethnic town of Ulcinj on the coast of Montenegro says it will declare Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Kosovo Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci honorary citizens at a ceremony scheduled for Saturday.

The Mayor of Ulcinj, Fatmir Djeka, revealed the decision, and officials say top Montenegrin officials, including President Filip Vujanovic, will be in attendance.
