Tennis: Begu and Buzarnescu, finalists in WTA Eastbourne Doubles
The pair made up of Romanian tennis players Irina Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu will play in the doubles final of the WTA tournament on grass in Eastbourne (United Kingdom), an event featuring prizes worth 852,564 dollars, after they defeating on Friday, in the last but final act, the pair made up of Nadia Kicenok (Ukraine) and Ekaterina Makarova (Russia), 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.
Romania's Cirstea advances to Qatar Total Open (WTA) women's singles second round
Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea qualified on Tuesday for the second round of the WTA tournament in Qatar (the Qatar Total Open), with prizes worth 3.1 million US dollars, after defeating Greek Maria Sakkari, with a score of 6-2, 6-3.
Sorana Cirstea (aged 27, WTA's 38th) defeated her 22-year old opponent (WTA's 60th) after one hour and 13 minutes.
Büyükakçay to take on Rogers at French Open
Turkish player Çağla Büyükakçay will take on Shelby Rogers at the French Open on May 31 after beating Croatia's Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in straight sets on May 28.
The world's 155th-ranked player won 6-3, 6-3 against her 35-year-old rival, who is a full 133 spots ahead of her in the world rankings.
"I'll face another tough rival," Büyükakçay told Anadolu Agency after the win.

Rafael Nadal's Australian Open dream lay in tatters Jan. 27 with the third seed crushed by Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals, but Maria Sharapova showed who's boss by slapping down Eugenie Bouchard.
The out-of-sorts Spaniard, a 14-time Grand Slam champion, was never in contention against a player he had beaten the last 17 times they met stretching back to 2006.

Krunic's dream run at US Open ends
NEW YORK - Serbian qualifier Aleksandra Krunic lost her fourth round match at the US Open to Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) early on Tuesday CET.
In the match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes, the 21-year-old Serbian showed flashes of brilliance before struggling to keep her focus in the final set, which cost her a place in the quarter-finals.

Jankovic and Kleybanova eliminated in doubles
