 Bulgaria's national interest calls for an improvement in relations with Macedonia, said Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and reiterated that she hoped the good neighbor agreement between the two countries will be signed at the beginning of August.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is in Croatian city of Dubrovnik for the summit of the Heads of State and Government of the countries participating in the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) within the final meetings of the Croatian SEECP Chairmanship, reported BNT. 

There is no change in Bulgaria's stand on the languages in the friendship treaty, to be signed with Macedonia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said in response to a question from a reporter of FOCUS News Agency.

The message was very clear: Bulgaria will provide help when asked about it, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva told BTV's morning show, commenting on the visit of Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to Bulgaria.

The common history must bring together two countries, not divide them, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva told Bulgarian National Television with regard to the visit of Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to Bulgaria.
She said there is mutual trust and goodwill at a high level between the two countries.

Bulgaria's foreign minister said on Wednesday that Bulgaria will finally complete reforms to its judicial system by the end of 2018 in order to end a decade of EU monitoring — "which can't go on forever'', according to the Washington Post. 

There is good co-operation between Bulgaria and Romania on shared issues such as the abolition of visa requirements for their citizens to travel to Canada, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said in Bucharest on June 7, Independent Balkan News Agency reported.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said in a TV interview that an official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bulgaria would help strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

''A clear commitment is written in this government's programme, to fulfilling all 17 recommendations in the term of office of this European Commission, some of them by the end of 2018'', Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.

Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier is having today a marathon of meetings in Sofia on issues of bilateral interest, economic cooperation, interaction within international organizations, the European agenda and the situation in the Balkans, reported BNR.
