Turkish FM holds phone call with Iraqi counterpart

Turkey's top diplomat held a series of telephone calls on Feb. 8 with counterparts from three countries. 

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu called his Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, according to Turkish sources.

He separately spoke with Tunisia's Othman Jerandi in a call that focused on recent development in Libya.

Dendias asks for EU foreign ministers' meeting on migration

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias was busy Saturday contacting his counterparts in several European countries, as well  as the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell Fontelles, whom he asked to convene an extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

FM Çavuşoğlu urges joint effort against extremism in Europe

Turkish foreign minister on Jan. 31 called for a joint effort to ward off extremist ideas in Europe.

"We should fight against these extremist ideas no matter in which country they are. Our common values will continue to wear off if we do not challenge movements that are racist and hate everybody except themselves," said Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Sofia, Bulgaria's capital.

Zakharieva praises Serbian reforms

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Tuesday met with Bulgarian Deputy PM and FM Ekaterina Zakharieva, who commended the reforms conducted by Serbia, noting that Bulgaria was a strong supporter of Serbia's further European integration process.

Meeting the requirements in negotiation chapters 23 and 24 is of great significance on this path, Zakharieva said.

The cause of the Kosovo problem should be solved, and a viable solution found, says Serbian Foreign Minister and First Deputy PM Ivica Dacic.

Speaking on Tuesday in Belgrade, Dacic also "pointed out that he does not believe that consensus can be reached on this issue," Beta is reporting.
