Turkish security forces "neutralized" at least two PKK terrorists in the country's southeast, the Interior Ministry said on July 4.

The terrorists were "neutralized" in an operation supported by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari province as part of Operation Eren-14, said the ministry.

Turkish security forces on May 23 arrested six PKK terror suspects in the capital Ankara and northwestern Istanbul province.

Turkish police carried out simultaneous operations at 14 places in Ankara and Istanbul on May 21 to arrest terror suspects. A former official of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) was among the suspects.

Turkey has neutralized 40 terrorists as part of Eren Operations so far, the country's interior minister said on May 9.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in statements to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Turkey has extended its fight against terrorists as the new phase of a domestic counter-terrorism operation has been launched in the country's east, the Interior Ministry said on Jan. 20.

The Turkish security forces will hold large-scale operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the upcoming winter, Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said, adding that "we will never stop moving" in the months to come. 

A total of 176 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed by Turkish security forces inside and outside Turkey during counter-terrorism operations in August, according to official data compiled by Anadolu Agency. 

A 63-year-old man has initiated a 370-km march from the Black Sea province of Samsun towards Trabzon, another Black Sea province, to commemorate Eren Bülbül, a 15-year-old boy who was killed this month in clashes between the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and security forces, Doğan News Agency reported on Aug. 29.
