Parliament strips imprisoned TİP lawmaker of seat
The parliament has stripped imprisoned Workers' Party of Türkiye (TİP) lawmaker Can Atalay of his parliamentary status, defying a ruling by the top court last September.
The decision by the Court of Appeals to unseat Atalay, who was elected to the parliament in last May's election while in prison, was read in the parliament on Jan. 30.

Şimşek, Erkan to meet investors in New York
Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will travel to New York next month to meet with investors.
As part of the "Investor Day" event to be held on Jan. 11, Erkan will make a presentation to foreign investors on monetary policy and inflation, according to the invitation the Central Bank sent to investors.

Four killed, 10 injured as van overturns in Erzincan
A tragic accident has claimed the lives of four individuals and left 10 others injured as a minibus carrying families returning from a wedding overturned in the eastern province of Erzincan.
The incident occurred early on July 9 at the Sakaltutan pass on the highway between Erzincan and the nearby province of Sivas.
