4.6 magnitude earthquake shakes eastern city of Malatya
A 4.6 magnitude earthquake rattled the eastern province of Malatya one day after another moderate-scale tremor, the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) has announced.
The earthquake occurred at 12:34 p.m. on Dec. 28, with its epicenter situated in the Yeşilyurt district, reaching a depth of 17 kilometers, AFAD said in a written statement.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Türkiye's popular holiday destination Antalya has already exceeded 1 million.
Antalya made a good start to 2023 in terms of tourism activity, and tourist inflow has been strong, Governor Ersin Yazıcı said.

Record number of tourists visited Antalya in first 15 days
With 125,000 tourists, the southern province of Antalya has broken its record of all time in terms of the number of tourists visiting the city in the first 15 days of the year, while sector representatives also expect the tourist record to be broken in January.
Antalya welcomed 13.4 million tourists last year
Some 13.4 million foreign tourists arrived in Antalya by air last year, marking a 48 percent increase from 2021.
Antalya, on the Mediterranean coast, reached those numbers despite the fallout from the Russian-Ukraine conflict.

Magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolts southern Turkey
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Turkey's Mediterranean Antalya province on Dec. 5, according to the country's disaster management agency.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the quake occurred at 3.44 p.m. local time (1244 GMT) off the Gazipaşa district.
It took place at a depth of 77.58 kilometers (48.2 miles), AFAD added.
