Pfizer-BioTech Covid-19 vaccines arrive in Nafplio, Argos hospitals

The hospitals of Nafplio and Argos in the Peloponnese received their first batches of the Pfizer-BioTech Covid-19 vaccines on Thursday, January 7, 2021. In Nafplio, the truck transporting the 115 doses was greeted with applause from the health workers and the deputy manager of the local hospital, Theodore Vassilopoulos, while the hospital in Argos received 145 doses.

Greece to send frigate, submarine in eastern Mediterranean

Greece will send a frigate and a submarine to the eastern Mediterranean region under its UN and NATO obligations, Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos has said.

Venizelos, who is also deputy prime minister, made the statement on Wednesday after a meeting with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades in Nicosia.

Macedonia PM Says Opposition 'Sound Greek'

As election races hot up in Macedonia, the ruling VMRO DPMNE party has accused the opposition of holding standpoints on the sensitive issue of the country's name issue that betray national interests.

Coalition seeks accord on milk


The multi-bill of reforms agreed with the troika last week is due to be tabled in Parliament on Friday, with the government still scrambling to find a compromise with MPs and dairy farmers who oppose the proposed lengthening of fresh milk’s shelf life from five to around 10 days because it is seen as helping cheaper imports at the expense of local producers.
