Türkiye prepares 20 field hospitals near Gaza border, Egypt airport

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced that Türkiye has made extensive preparations to establish 20 field hospitals both in the vicinity of the Rafah border gate, the only way into Gaza not controlled by Israel, and at Egypt's El Arish airport to provide medical aid to the conflict-stricken Gaza.

Minister urges WHO action to secure health services in Gaza

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has intensified diplomatic efforts this weekend as he engaged in crucial discussions regarding the escalating crisis in Gaza.

Fidan embarked on a diplomatic mission, meeting his counterparts from Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tehran on Oct. 23, during the South Caucasus Platform meeting.

New COVID variant not detected in Türkiye, minister says

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced that the country has not detected the presence of the new variant of COVID-19, EG.5, within its borders.

"Do not worry about these variants. There is no such thing as a transition to the periods that we have closed," Koca declared in a press address held in the Central Anatolian province of Kırşehir on Aug. 23.
