Libya rejects EU plans for migrant centers on its territory
Libya rejects a European Union's plan to establish migrant centers there to stop asylum seekers arriving in western Europe and it will not be swayed by financial inducements, Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj said.
US military formally ends anti-ISIL operation in Libya's Sirte
The U.S. military has officially ended operations in a former Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) bastion in Libya, officials announced Dec. 20.
The Pentagon had launched Operation Odyssey Lightning to help local forces push the jihadists from the coastal city of Sirte on Aug. 1.
FM heads to Libya; reports say embassy may reopen
Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias is to conduct an official visit to Libya on Monday amid reports that Athens is planning to reopen its embassy in Tripoli and restore diplomatic relations with the North African country.
Greece's embassy closed at the end of July 2014 due to civil strife in Libya.

Turkey to reopen embassy in Libyan capital soon
Turkey will soon reopen its embassy in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, a senior diplomat said Nov. 10.
"Soon we will open our embassy in Tripoli and resume work," the undersecretary of the Turkish Embassy in Libya, Tufan Höbek, said Nov. 10.

Confidence vote on hold as Libya unity govt asserts authority
Libya's parliament postponed a vote of confidence expected to be held on April 19 on a new UN-backed unity government even as it asserted its authority by assuming control of two ministries.
Deputies told AFP a special session of the internationally-recognised parliament, to be held in the eastern city of Tobruk, failed to take place because of "big differences".

Libya's internationally recognized parliament on Jan. 25 voted to reject a U.N.-backed unity government, lawmakers said, in a major blow to international efforts to end the country's unrest.
"We voted against endorsing the government and ask... to be presented with another government," parliamentarian Ali al-Gaydi said.
