Dacic, Joksimovic welcome Mogherini's appointment

BELGRADE - Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic welcomed on Monday Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini's appointment as the new EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk's appointment as the President of the European Council, stressing that both supported Serbia's EU integration.

Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini was appointed on Saturday as the European Union’s new foreign policy chief.

European leaders also chose Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk as the new President of the European Council, the current President Herman Van Rompuy announced in tweets at the EU summit in Brussels.

NIŠ -- PM Aleksandar Vučić has said that Serbia's loyalty to the EU is not in question, but called on Brussels to respect the vital national interests of the country.

He urged the organization "not to expect Serbia to cause harm to its own economy for the sake of the EU path."
