Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Ludovic Orban said on Wednesday that the Iasi Pogrom is the bitter lesson of a history that, although it moves away from us, must not be forgotten. The Romanian Parliament on Wednesday commemorated for the first time ever the victims of the June 1941 Iasi Pogrom in a solemn session as part of a joint plenary sitting.

President Klaus Iohannis said on Tuesday that the motion of no-confidence tabled by the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) will not survive a vote of Parliament. "I speak frequently with all politicians and I don't think the motion of no-confidence will succeed or the rumours that some who should not vote will vote. I do not believe it," he said.

The opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) filed today in the Lower House plenary meeting a simple motion against Health Minister Vlad Voiculescu. "We hereby refer to you the simple motion titled: 'Incompetence and lack of commitment kill! Vlad Voiculescu, a danger to the Romanians' health and life', initiated by 109 Social Democrat deputies.

President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday evening signed the Decree for the nomination of Citu Government.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu on Friday sent a message to the Romanians in the diaspora reminding them that they have two days at their disposal to vote in the parliamentary elections so that to avoid crowding.
