Greek cheeses exempted from US tariffs

Greek cheeses have been exempted from US tariffs imposed on European Union agricultural products, according to the Ministry of Rural Development and Food on Thursday

The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Makis Voridis, expressed his satisfaction over the decision to the US Ambassador in Athens, Geoffrey Pyatt in a telephone conversation.

State Department calls Turkey-Libya maritime deal 'provocative and unhelpful'

The US State Department has called the Turkey-Libya memorandum of understanding (MoU) relating to maritime zones "provocative and unhelpful."

Answering a question posed by the Hellas Journal website, a State Department spokesman noted that the agreement cannot affect the rights or obligations of third states such as Greece.

US offers aid for unaccompanied minors, pandemic

The US government will provide 2.9 million dollars in financial assistance to Greece to improve the living conditions of unaccompanied minors and support the islands against the Covid-19 pandemic, it was announced by Alternate Minister for Citizens' Protection Giorgos Koumoutsakos and US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt following a meeting on Thursday.
