US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt on Thursday conveyed a decision by the State Department to bolster humanitarian aid to Greece in a telephone conversation with Migration Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos.

The US Embassy in Athens has bolstered the Hellenic Police's defenses against the coronavirus with a donation of masks, gloves and other personal protective equipment.

Monday's donation, which included 15,000 gloves and 8,200 face masks, was personally delivered by US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt to the chief of the Hellenic Police (ELAS), Lieutenant General Michael Karamalakis.

Greek Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias on Thursday received US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt at his office in Athens for talks on further strengthening the exchange medical equipment, technology and knowhow, as Greece took delivery of 200,000 antibody tests from US medical device developer Abbott Laboratories.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Friday met with US Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt at the Foreign Ministry in Athens, reports said.

From 3 to 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Delphi Economic Forum will host "The Inclusivity Lounge Online," organized by Women On Top with the support of the US Embassy in Athens and Coca-Cola HBC, and in cooperation with Women Act and Lean In Hellas. 

American Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt has unveiled the #USGreece2021 logo that the US government will use for all its programming in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Greece's independence.
"I'm very proud of what we've accomplished over the past few years in US-Greece relations," Pyatt said in an interview with Mega TV.

US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt on Friday spoke with Greece's new President Katerina Sakellaropoulou by video link, with the former expressing his solidarity with Greece and backing its right to protect its northern border with Turkey in Evros.

The United States supports "Greece's sovereign right to protect its border, work to de-escalate tensions and end provocative acts and false claims in social media," Ambassador to Athens Geoffrey Pyatt said on Thursday.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met in Athens on Friday with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt for talks that focused on bilateral issues but also addressed the surge of refugees and migrants trying to cross into Greece on Friday after Turkey said it would lifted controls on Syrians fleeing airstrikes.

US Ambassador to Athens, Geoffrey Pyatt, sided with Greece over a contentious maritime boundaries agreement signed between Turkey and Libya saying that all Greek islands, regardless of size, are entitled to continental shelf and exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
