Banca Transilvania Group posts 1.015 bln lei in H1 net consolidated profit

Banca Transilvania Group's net consolidated profit for the first half of 2021 stands at 1.015 billion lei, up 47.2 percent compared to the same period last year, with the bank's profit standing at 901 million lei (48.3 percent higher YoY), the group said in a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Raiffeisen Bank to refund to customers any amounts collected in excess

Raiffeisen Bank proceeded to implement the ANPC (National Authority for Consumer Protection) order according to which the management fee could not be included in the interest margin for the restructuring of the loans, and after the restoration of the calculations, the bank will return to the clients any amounts collected in excess, the bank's representatives told AGERPRES.

Romania's economy advances 6.5pct in H1 2021

Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) advanced 6.5% in H1 2021 y-o-y in unadjusted terms, and 6.2% when seasonally adjusted according to the flash estimates published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). In Q2 2021, GDP increased by 1.8% on a quarterly basis seasonally adjusted. When compared to the same quarter one year before, the Romanian economy was up 13.6%.

Over 10 billion RON traded during first 7 months on stock market, capital market goes up by 25 pct

Negative birth rate in Romania in June

The birth rate remained negative (-6,460) in June 2021, the number of persons deceased being 1.4 times higher than that of live births, shows the data published, on Tuesday, by the National Institute for Statistics (INS). In June 2021, there were 14,877 births, by 1,353 more than in May 2021. The number of live births recorded in June 2021 was smaller by 639 compared to the same month of 2020.

Ministry of Energy: Romania, strengthening cooperation with Canada in nuclear field

Romania strengthens nuclear cooperation with Canada after Energy Minister and Canadian Ambassador to Romania signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Romania's Ministry of Energy and Canada's Department of Natural Resources on consolidating Civilian Nuclear Cooperation, reads a press release of the ministry.
