European Under-21 Championship: Romania 2-4 Germany
Romania lost to defending champions Germany 2-4 (2-1) in the semi-finals of the European Under-21 football championship in Italy and San Marino on the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna on Thursday. Scoring for the winners were Nadi Amiri (21', 90'+ 4') and Luca Waldschmidt (51' - penalty, 90'), while George Puscas scored the goals for Romania (26' - penalty, 44').

Romania on Monday advanced for the first time to the semi-finals of the European Under-21 football championship, and so qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, after drawing France 0-0 on Monday evening in a Group C match of the tournament in Italy and San Marino, at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium in Cesena.

Romania's Under-21 team succeeded a sensational victory against England, with a score of 4-2 (0-0) on Friday on the "Dino Manuzzi" Stadium in Cesena, in Group C of the European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino.
Euro 2020 qualifiers: Malta 0-4 Romania
Romania defeated Malta 4-0 (3-0) on Monday night at the Ta'Qali National Stadium in a Group F EURO 2020 qualifier. The Romanian side won their first ever match against the Maltese side thanks to the goals scored by George Puscas (7, 29), Alexandru Chipciu (34) and Dennis Man (90 + 1). Romania will play their next qualifier against Spain, on the National Arena in Bucharest on September 5.
