George Simion

The co-chairman of the Alliance for Romanians Union (AUR), George Simion, said on Tuesday that he is participating in the consultations at Cotroceni Palace "from institutional condescension", adding that his formation will not be voting for the Florin Citu Government. "We are now participating out of institutional condescendence.

The co-chairman of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, declared on Monday that he came to the meeting at Cotroceni with President Klaus Iohannis with a proposal of the prime minister - Calin Georgescu.

The sight was a group of young people sitting by tents in the middle of the huge traffic island in front of government headquarters. Parked next to their tents, a bus painted in gold featured the message: "Justice for Romania". 

Noted names of the Romanian politics are opening the lists of candidates for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Bucharest electoral constituency. Some have done politics and are returning to this year's elections, others are members of the current Parliament and want a new term as a senator or deputy.

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) decided on Wednesday by drawing lots the order of the parties on the ballot paper in the May 26 elections to the European Parliament, with majority party Social Democratic Party (PSD), the opposition 2020 alliance of Save Romania Union (USR) and PLUS, and the Pro Romania Party on the top three spots.

The Moldovan authorities have authorised simultaneous protests in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on Saturday for pro-Romanian Unionists and for pro-Russian Socialists members and sympathizers.

Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu discussed with his Moldovan counterpart Natalia Gherman the denial of access to the Republic of Moldova for Romanian citizen George Simion.

Romania's Embassy in Chisinau took several steps with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and asked for clarifications concerning the situation of Romanian citizen George Simion, after it found out from public sources, on Wednesday, about his being detained by representatives of the Bureau for Migration and Asylum of the neighbouring country.
