Prosecutor wants guilty verdict for child’s murder

The prosecutor in the trial of 35-year-old Roula Pispirigou from the western port city of Patra who stands accused of killing her 9-year-old daughter Georgina, has recommended she be found guilty of murder, and for an earlier failed attempt.

Prosecutor Eleftheria Spyridonakou argued that the evidence of Pispirigou's guilt was overwhelming.

Mother to stand trial for deaths of two more children

A woman on trial for the murder of her eldest daughter in 2022, will stand trial for the deaths of her youngest two daughters as well, her lawyer has said.

Alexis Kougias also announced that he had requested that his client, Roula Pispirigou, be evaluated by two psychiatrists to determine if she suffers from Munchausen syndrome.

Mother accused of murdering her children remanded again

A second temporary detention warrant was issued by a court on Thursday against a 34-year-old woman for the deaths of her two younger children, Malena and Iris.

Roula Pispirigou, from the western port city of Patra, is accused of killing her three daughters in 2019 and 2021.

The 34-year-old is already in temporary custody for the death of her first-born, Georgina.

Three hours later, the 34-year-old is called to appear again on the bench of the Mixed Jury Court, before which her trial for the death of her first daughter, Georgina, began on Monday.
