Summer French Film Festival | Athens | June 1 - September 4
The French Institute is organizing evening screenings of five classic French films in the beautiful Senada garden at the French School of Athens over the next few months in a celebration of summer. The first, on Thursday, June 1, is Marguerite Duras's 1975 drama "India Song," starring Delphine Seyrig, Michael Lonsdale, Mathieu Carriere, Claude Mann, Vernon Dobtcheff and Didier Flamand.
Hollywood actor Steven Seagal banned from Ukraine (photos-video)
Action movie legend Steven Seagal has been barred from Ukraine and marked a “threat to national security” over his cosy friendship with Vladimir Putin. The Hollywood veteran, banned by Ukranian’s security service, the SBU, is the second of Putin’s celebrity friends to be blacklisted by the former Soviet state – following French actor Gerard Depardieu.
Antalya to host Connie Nielsen
Danish actress Connie Nielsen will be one of the guests to be welcomed at the 53rd Antalya Film Festival, where she will attend the opening night.
Nielsen's latest film "The Confessions" is one of the films to compete in the International Film Competition category.
The film's first screening will be on Oct. 18 at 12 p.m. at the Antalya Cultural Center (AKM).

53rd Antalya Film Festival to be held in October
The 53rd Antalya International Film Festival will be held this year between Oct. 16 and 23.
At a recent press conference in Istanbul, Antalya Mayor Menderes Türel said they added two special film selections to the festival program related to the current political situation.

Ukraine bans the work of 13 artists as threats to national security
The Ukrainian government decided Saturday to ban the work of 13 artists after they were deemed as a national threat to the security of the country. The lists includes Russian artists and supporters of Vladimir Putin’s policies in the eastern Ukraine.
Actor Depardieu banned from Ukraine for stance on Russia
Ukraine has banned French actor Gerard Depardieu from entering the country for five years, its state security service said on July 29, apparently for making comments that suggested he supported Russia's annexation of Crimea last year.

Ukraine has moved ban actor Gérard Depardieu from entering the country over the next five years.
Depardieu, who in 2013 was granted Russian citizenship, has thus become part of a list including Serbian director Emir Kusturica, Hollywood director Oliver Stone, and actor Steven Seagal.

French actor Depardieu banned entry to Ukraine
French actor Gerard Depardieu who holds a Russian passport has been banned from entering Ukraine by the country’s Security Services for 5 years. Depardieu, who is a fervent supporter of Russia had made statements in the past saying that Ukraine was part of the Russian federation.

Film Archive awards Golden Stamp to Richard Dreyfuss
BELGRADE - Famous Oscar-winning US actor Richard Dreyfuss was awarded the Golden Stamp of the Yugoslav Film Archive on Tuesday for his overall contribution to cinematography.
Dreyfuss is the 32nd laureate of the award, which was presented to him by Yugoslav Film Archive Director Radoslav Zelenovic.
Gerard Depardieu To Shoot Film In Bulgaria
French actor Gerard Depardieu will shoot a film in Bulgaria, reports Vesti.bg.
The shoot starts in November in the village of Kaloyanovo, near Plovdiv.
The production with working title Le Voyage is financed by Switzerland, the production team is Italian, the spoken language will be French. In the film will also star actors from the Plovdiv Dramatic Theatre.
