Wales captain Gareth Bale has confirmed his move to Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC following his departure from Spanish giant Real Madrid.

Bale confirmed his plans to join LAFC in a post on Twitter following widespread reports about the move.

"See you soon, Los Angeles," the 32-year-old wrote on June 25. An accompanying video showed Bale wearing an LAFC shirt and cap.

Having battled to break down one of Europe's meanest defences in the quarter-finals, Real Madrid will have to do it all over again when they face Juventus in their Champions League semi-final. 

The defending champions took just under three hours to break down Atletico's resistance in the previous round, wining 1-0 on aggregate with a goal in the 88th minute of the second leg. 

After their weekend derby disappointment, Juventus will need favours from elsewhere if they are to secure a fourth consecutive Serie A title in front of their own fans on April 29.

Barcelona have agreed to buy disgraced Uruguay forward Luis Suarez from Liverpool, the two clubs said on July 11.

"The player will travel to Barcelona next week for a medical, sign a contract for the next five seasons and be presented as an FC Barcelona player," the Spanish team said in a statement.

Luis Suarez flew home to Uruguay on Friday after being thrown out of the World Cup and banned from football for four months for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, who criticized the punishment as "excessive".
