Istanbul and Barcelona not hospitable for Reds and Greens
Olympiakos came close to completing an impressive fightback in the Euroleague and beat Fenerbahce in Turkey on Thursday, while Panathinaikos was nowhere near beating Barcelona in Spain.
The Reds lost 79-77 to Fener in Istanbul, and issued a statement protesting at referee decisions that it claimed shaped the result.
Reds secure Euroleague playoffs’ home advantage
Olympiakos has clinched the home advantage for the Euroleague playoffs after its win over Villeurbanne, while Panathinaikos ended its poor run with a home win against Bayern.
The Reds scored their 22nd win in 31 matches, downing hapless Villeurbanne 81-55 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus on Wednesday.

Win at last for Panathinaikos in Europe, as Reds stay on top
While Euroleague leader Olympiakos' win over Bayern at home on Thursday was hardly a surprise, the victory Panathinaikos scored against Red Star Belgrade in Athens on Friday was definitely eye-catching, after a long string of six defeats for the Greens.
Panathinaikos came back from 16 points down to beat the Serbs 75-66 for only its ninth win in 28 games.
Redemption for Panathinaikos in Milan
Panathinaikos redeemed itself from a very poor showing at Villeubanne on Tuesday through a stellar second half at Armani Milano on Thursday for its second road win this season in the Euroleague. Also on Thursday, Olympiakos was not a match for CSKA in Moscow.

Rare victory for Panathinaikos in Euroleague
Panathinaikos tasted a rare win in the Euroleague these days, beating Bayern Munich in Athens on Friday, after Olympiakos went down to Baskonia on Thursday.
The Greens improved their record to 3-6 with their 83-76 home win, in a game they dominated after the first four minutes, turning a 5-10 deficit into a 28-15 advantage.

Greece thrashes Jordan ahead of World Cup in China
NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Greek national team were in action on Saturday as part of the 2019 Suzhou International Basketball Challenge in China. Greece thrashed Jordan 92-65 in a game that took place ahead of the FIBA World Cup that kicks off in China next Saturday. Antetokounmpo scored 13 points, behind Giorgos Printezis with 17 points.
