Less bureaucracy in property transfers
Efforts are under way to reduce the bureaucracy that accompanies property transfers by the relevant departments of the Ministry of Finance which, among other things, plans to abolish the certificate of payment of inheritance or parental tax and the certificate of water supply of a building.

Taxes: The 17 tourist areas that are targeted by tax auditors
The Independent Public Revenue Authority - AADE will be landing on 12 islands and 5 tourist land destinations in view of the tourist season to reduce tax evasion mainly of VAT and to increase tax revenues. In fact, for this purpose, it is strengthening the staff in the respective Tax Bureaus for the months of July, August and September.
AADE deal with Papastratos against contraband cigarettes
Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) head Giorgos Pitsilis and Papastratos chairman and CEO Christos Harpantidis have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at battling the illicit trade in tobacco products, it was announced on Friday.
The agreement strengthens strategic cooperation between the two sides to combat the illicit trade.
Authorities seize 850,000 poor quality masks at Athens airport
Greece's Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) has confiscated 850,000 poor quality face masks at Athens' International Airport, the head of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue announced on Monday.
Taxisnet key now provided online via video conference
Taxpayers will now be able to talk to an Independent Authority for Public Revenue officer via teleconference and get a username and password to use the tax authorities' Taxisnet website, including for the submission of tax declarations. More services will soon become available via video conference, the Digital Governance Ministry and IAPR announced on Thursday.
Extension of deadline for numerous declarations
The Finance Ministry has extended the deadline for the submission of declarations concerning a number of categories in order to assist corporations, accountants and tax experts which are currently facing a struggle to support the economy, as it said in a statement.

New measures against coronavirus include tax dealings via mail, phone
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) has announced that transactions with the tax office, customs and the General Chemical State Laboratory of Greece will be carried out strictly via mail or by phone as of Monday.
Seized alcohol to be turned into antiseptics
Greek authorities plan to turn tons of ethanol confiscated from bootleg booze-makers into sanitizer to combat the coronavirus epidemic.
Up to 155 tons of seized alcohol is languishing in customs warehouses across the country.
Authorities say they are trying to find manufacturers willing to convert it into antiseptics.

Tills' online link with tax authorities starts in June
The Finance Ministry's Taxis system will be updated with receipt data from businesses' cash tills every minute as of this coming summer, according to a decision by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue regarding the online connection of tills with Taxisnet.
