Dourou charged in connection with Mandra floods in 2017
An Athens prosecutor has brought charges against Attica Regional Governor Rena Dourou and another nine officials in connection with the flash floods in Mandra, western Attica, in November 2017 which resulted in the deaths of 25 people and the destruction of hundreds of properties.
Trial of defendant who stabbed Elefsina mayor postponed
The trial of the 35-year-old man who stabbed Elefsina Mayor Giorgos Tsoukalas in the thigh earlier this week has been postponed until September 8. The decision was taken by the court on Wednesday so that Tsoukalas, who remains in hospital after undergoing surgery on Monday, can attend as a witness.

Eleusis, also known as Elefsina, a town in West Attica Greece will be submitting a bid to be named European Capital of Culture for 2021, the town's mayor Giorgos Tsoukalas announced on Monday.
