Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) will premiere 'Giselle Ballet' at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) on Oct 27. The work tells the tragic and romantic story of a young, beautiful and yet shy peasant girl named Giselle.

Staged by Zeynep Sunal Öngün, the ballet will be on stage on Nov. 1, 7, 15, Dec. 2 and 7 at AKM and on Nov. 4, 21 and 22 at Kadıköy Süreyya Opera Stage.

Giselle, sometimes referred to as the Queen of Romantic Ballet, will premiere at Ljubljana's Cankarjev Dom on 12 January in a co-production with the national opera and ballet company that has been choreographed by Jose Carlos Martinez, the new director of ballet at the Paris Opera.

To mark International Dance Day, the Turkish State Opera and Ballet (DOB) has shared a video clip featuring the performances of ballet dancers, who took the stage for several ballet masterpieces in Turkey.
